A friend invited me to her church to see her daughter participate in the church’s radio broadcast. It is part of a Spanish language radio station which has elementary school age kids in the radio booth ask and answer questions about God. Listeners call in with religious questions or with requests for the kids to sing a particular song. It was really heart-warming to hear how animated the kids were and how many people were calling in to engage with these children! Located in neighboring Colmar Manor (off Bladensburg), this is only one of the many Latino churches at which members of the Mount Rainier Hispanic community worships.
